Maple River’s Strong Sixth Inning Overtakes Huskies

Maple River scored seven runs in the sixth inning to overcome Jackson County Central baseball 11-5 at Wacker Field on Friday night.
The Huskies scored one run in the first inning. The Eagles tied the game in the second and then scored twice in the third to take the 3-1 lead. JCC tied the game back up with two runs in the bottom of the third and then added another pair in the fourth to lead 5-3. Maple River scored one more in the fifth and then collected seven in the sixth.
Gage Johnson and Carson Kolander each had two hits and batted in a run. Johnson also scored twice and walked three times. Ben Gallagher scored once and walked twice. Jace Jorgenson and Haiden Warmka scored a run as well.
The 1-2 Huskies will host Luverne on Tuesday. That game will be on KKOJ Radio with coverage starting at 5:15 and the first pitch at 5:30 p.m.
