JCC Volleyball Team is Going to the State Tournament

The Jackson County Central Volleyball team earned a trip to the State Tournament with a victory over the Paynesville Bulldogs on Saturday in Marshall at SMSU. The Huskies lost the first set 27 to 25, won the second 25 to 17, lost the 3rd set 25 to 10 then came back and won set four 26 to 24 to send it to the deciding 5th set where they won 15 to 10.  JCC vs Paynesville final call 


The Huskies put in an all around team effort to capture the victory. Sadie Voss had 19 kills on the night, was 11/12 from the service line and had 18 digs. Emma Haren, just a sophomore for the Huskies, played great at the net and from the service line. She finished with 17 kills and was 17 of 21 from the service line with 5 aces. Haren also had 6 digs in the match. Georgianna Wenzel had 8 kills and was 19 of 21 serving with 2 aces which included the match winning ace, and was also huge on defense with 14 digs. Maci Farmer was solid as always with 45 set assists and 5 kills on the night. She was perfect from the service line going 17 of 17 with 2 aces and she had 8 digs. Alexis O’Reilly was 11 of 13 from the service line, had 8 digs and 3 set assists. Taylor Post was perfect on her serves as she went 5/5 with one ace and Andria Benson was 6 of 9 with one ace. Elese Paplow was 2 for 2 on her serves. 

The Huskies are the #4 seed in the Class 2A state tournament and will face #5 seed Annandale who is the champion of Section 5 and has a record of 25-4 on the season. Tickets are on sale now for the state tournament and they are $16 for adults and $10 for students. You can purchase a daily pass which would allow you to go in and out during the day but that must be purchased at the box office.
