JCC Husky Volleyball Team to face Marshall on Tuesday.
(Jackson) The Jackson County Central volleyball team faces a tough opponent on Tuesday night as the #1 ranked team in Class 3A, the Marshall Tigers, come to town. The Huskies are 4-0 on the season after picking up victories over St. James, Heron Lake-Okabena Fulda, Spirit Lake and Redwood Valley. Their biggest test so far was the match against Spirit Lake. Head Coach Deidre Wierson says her team started off a little slow in that match.
"It could have been just the amount of time they waited to play, it could have just been an off night but we were able to pull it together and make less errors and be able to continue to drive together to come out with a win from the 2nd, 3rd and 4th sets."
Luverne played Marshall early on in the season and took a game from them and coach Wierson says that was good to see and told her players that they can compete with Marshall.
"That for me really solidifies, like ok you need to remember that we are at the same caliber as Marshall, they just don't make as many errors so we need to really focus on that consistency and be ready to go after it on Tuesday."
Tuesday's match will start around 7pm. We are unable to cover this one on the air but I will be there to watch what should be a very good volleyball match between the Huskies and the Tigers.
