JCC Girls Win Second Straight, Boys Suffer First Loss

The Jackson County Central basketball teams split with Belle Plaine on Friday night. 

The JCC girls won their second straight game 89-70 at home. 

Rylie Cother scored 32 points in the first half to break her own school record for the most points scored in a half. She added 12 more in the second half to finish with 44 points. That’s tied for third-most in a game in school history. 

Zadi Farmer scored 17 points, Paylin Sether added 12 points, and Brylee Anderson had 10 points. Madelyn Rowe scored six points.

The 5-6 Huskies host Redwood Valley on Tuesday and we will have that game on KKOJ. 

The JCC boys lost for the first time this year 71-61 on the road. 

Weston Rowe dropped 26 points to lead the Huskies. Grant Freking scored 13 points and Blaise Rowe added 10 points to put three JCC players in double figures. 

Carson Pohlman scored six points. Thomas Liepold and Carter Buhl each had three points. 

The 8-1 Huskies visit Redwood Valley on Tuesday.
