JCC Girls Track Team Finishes 7th at State True Team Meet

The Jackson County Central girls track team finished in 7th overall at the Class A State True Team Meet on Saturday. The Huskies had a couple of first place finishes, one in which a record was broken as Payton Hanson cleared 10’ in the pole vault. Her previous record was 9’ 8”. Elsa Landherr won the triple jump competition on Saturday with a jump of 33’ 2.5”. Hanson also placed 2nd in the 300 meter hurdles while Landherr took 4th in the 400 meter dash. Other Huskies earning top 5 finishes were Rylie Cother who took second in the high jump, Payten Benda finished 4th in the 100 meter hurdles and Erica Hanson finished in the top 5 in the pole vault. Next up is the Section meet on Thursday for both the girls and boys teams. Site an time is yet to be determined.
