Jackson Legion Post 130 Headed to State

Mon 7-25-2022

It was 2004 the last time the Jackson American Legion Post 130 baseball team made it to state and now they are going again. They entered Saturday’s Southwest Sub State tourney as the final unbeaten team.  They needed just one win to move on and St. James had the tall task of trying to double dip the Tarantulas. St. James won the first game 9 to 3 but Jackson came back and won the second game 5 to 2 to advance to the Legion State Tourney.  Cameron Scholten pitched six innings in the "if" game for the win.  Logan Butzon came in to finish off the game in the 7th. Payton Handevidt and Gabriel Wolff led the Tarantulas with 3 hits. The Legion State baseball tournament is being played next weekend in Luverne.
