Huskies Looking to Repeat History in Prep Bowl

Fri 11-21-2025

The top-ranked and top-seeded Jackson County Central football team is one victory away from repeating history.

JCC takes on Goodhue in a collision of Class AA unbeatens in Prep Bowl XLIII on Friday.

The 12-0 Huskies are looking to become the second undefeated champion in school history after completing the quest last year.

Huskies head coach Tom Schuller says having that chance has always been the goal this year.

FULL INTERVIEW

Roman Voss and the Huskies offense already reset the JCC single-season record with 622 points scored after eclipsing last year’s mark of 617 last week. Voss had 163 pass yards on a career-high 14 completions with a pair of touchdowns and rushed for 107 yards with four TDs to lead the way. The defense also pitched a shutout in their 38-0 semifinal win over Eden Valley-Watkins for a 25th straight victory.

Coach Schuller says much of the formula for JCC remains consistent.

Goodhue is the #2 South seed in the State bracket behind JCC. The 12-0 Wildcats are winners in 23 of their past 24 games, including a 24-7 decision over top North seed Holdingford last week. Goodhue moved back to Class AA this year after advancing to the Class A quarterfinals last year.

The team has a “defense first” philosophy with the top-ranked unit in AA while giving up just seven points per game but a physical offense is scoring 38 points on average. Wildcats quarterback Luke Roschen is committed to play basketball at Southwest Minnesota State University. He averaged 11 yards per rush and collected 234 all-purpose yards in the semifinal. Bemidji State commit Jack Carlson helps lead the way on both sides of the ball as well.

Coach Schuller says the Huskies can use a variety of weapons.
