Huskies Lead Early, Tigers Rally to Victory

The Jackson County Central wrestling team got overtaken by Marshall on the road Thursday night. 

Payten Sorbel started the Huskies off with a pin win. The Tigers won the next six matches before Dallas Gossen captured a decision over state-ranked Tyson Louwagie to make it 25-9 Marshall. Evan Bartholomaus earned a major decision victory to bring it to 25-13 Tigers. Marshall pinned down the dual win and then got another fall after that. Carson Kolander returned from injury to win by pin and Cael Entriken won by decision to make the final score 37-22 Marshall. 

The Huskies fall to 2-1 overall and in the conference. 

 

JCC is ranked #9 in the latest Class A poll released by The Guillotine on Thursday. 

Four individual Huskies landed in the fresh Top 10 rankings. 

Isaac Rodriguez is ranked third at 133 pounds. Kyler Thier is ranked fourth at 139 pounds. Payten Sorbel is ranked ninth at 107 pounds. Evan Bartholomaus is ranked #10 at 160 pounds. 

JCC returns to Marshall on Saturday for the Big South Conference Tournament.
