Huskies Hold Off Buccaneers at Home

The Jackson County Central girls basketball team held on to beat Blue Earth Area at home on Tuesday night.
The Huskies outlasted the Buccaneers 78-77 in a wild back-and-forth contest.
Zadi Farmer dropped 31 points to lead JCC with 20 of those coming in the second half. Madelyn Rowe scored 14 points and Mady Wachal added 11 points.
Aliza Liepold collected nine points and Kinley VanDeVere put in six points. Paige Benda made a three-pointer and Tressa Withers had two points.
The 5-9 Huskies hang on for their second straight win and fourth victory in their past six games.
Next up for the JCC girls is taking part in the varsity doubleheader in Montevideo on Saturday.
