Huskies Earn Extra Special Sweep in Windom

The Jackson County Central basketball teams swept Windom Area on the road Friday night.
RECAP:
The JCC girls won their fourth straight game 91-83 over the Eagles.
The teams traded the lead early on but the Huskies eventually built a 11-point lead during the first half and then led 45-42 at halftime. JCC led by as many as 18 during the second half. Windom cut the deficit to five in the closing minutes but the Huskies held on to improve to 7-6 overall.
Rylie Cother dropped 36 points to lead all scorers and surpassed the milestone of 2,000 career points.
Zadi Farmer scored a career-high 29 points and tied a school record with seven made three-pointers.
Madelyn Rowe joined them in double figures again with 14 points.
Paylin Sether scored seven points. Aliza Liepold and Brylee Anderson each scored two points. Payton Coquyt scored one point.
The JCC boys routed the Eagles 101-69 in the nightcap and moved to 10-1 overall.
Grant Freking led all scorers on the night with 37 points and added 11 rebounds for a double-double. He also had four assists and three steals.
Weston Rowe scored 16 points and grabbed five rebounds.
Aiven Farmer added 13 points and eight rebounds.
Carson Pohlman had eight points and five rebounds plus two assists and two blocks. Thomas Sether had five points and three steals plus a team-high eight assists. Carter Buhl had four points and three assists. Thomas Liepold collected four points and six rebounds. Michael Reipke also scored four points. Blaise Rowe had three points and five rebounds. Mason Foster had three points, four rebounds, and a pair of assists. Austin O’Reilly and Sulaimon Olaosebikan each scored two points.
Next up for JCC is a home doubleheader against Luverne on Monday night.
