Huskies Drop Season Opener in New Ulm

The Jackson County Central girls basketball team lost a competitive season opener in New Ulm on Thursday night.
The Huskies trailed 32-29 at halftime before losing 72-64 to the Eagles.
Zadi Farmer led JCC with 23 points featuring a pair of three-pointers and a 9-of-11 night from the free throw line. Kinley VanDeVere added 14 points and Madelyn Rowe scored 13 for a trio of Huskies in double figures.
Mady Wachal finished with eight points including a pair of banked three pointers. Paylin Sether, Payton Coquyt, and Paige Benda added two points each.
The 0-1 Huskies visit Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial on Tuesday.
