USRA feature winners included Brandon Davis of Hayfield in Modifieds, Luke Sathoff of Jackson in Stock Cars, Ben Moudry of Protivin, IA in B-Mods, Landon Krohn of Rowena, SD in Hobby Stocks, and Alan Lahr of Nicollet in Tuners. Sathoff held off Derek Green and Krohn made the night’s hardest charge to a victory. Both of those winners walked away with custom-cut trophies as part of the fall special and 2023 season finale. The 2024 season at Fairmont Raceway is scheduled to begin on Friday, May 3.

The opening ceremony on Thursday night included a lap of silence for Kevin Cram. Drivers also helped with a helmet pass at intermission. Cram was shot and killed Wednesday while arresting a suspect on an outstanding warrant. The Algona, IA police officer leaves behind two young children. He was 33 years old.

The grandstands donated $958 and then a driver rounded it up to $1,000. An anonymous donor matched the $1,000 and Hobby Stock driver Craig Fowler donated his winnings. The track collected a grand total of $2,120 in donations. You can reach out to Fairmont Raceway if you missed the helmet pass and would like to contribute.

Worthington Speedway is running the Turkey Town Throwdown on Saturday with five IMCA classes plus bombers in action.
