Cleveland Clips Mavericks Comeback Attempt Short

Maddie Carlson struck out 10 Clippers but the Martin County West softball team lost 3-2 at Cleveland on Thursday.
Carlson allowed three runs with one of them earned on four hits during six innings of work but did walk six batters. The Mavericks struck out 12 times in the game.
MCW took the first lead in the second inning when Bailey Larson smacked an RBI single to score Courtney Anderson.
Cleveland tied the game in the home half of the second and then scored twice in the third to take a 3-1 lead.
Emily Schettler got a run back for the Mavs in the sixth when her RBI single plated Emily Anderson but the Clippers held on to win.
Emily Anderson, Hannah Rosenberg, and Maddie Carlson each joined Larsen and Schettler in collecting one hit for MCW. Rosenberg also stole two bases.
