Two arrested following Spirit Lake robbery
(Spirit Lake)-- An investigation into a robbery early this (Wed.) morning in Spirit Lake resulted in the arrests of two suspects.
The Spirit Lake Police Department says officers responded around 1:45 am to a report of a robbery in the 1100 block of 15th Street.
Upon investigating police learned a male victim had been assaulted by two assailants resulting in the theft of several items and injury to the victim requiring medical treatment. The victim was taken to Lakes Regional Healthcare where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries and released.
The alleged suspects were identified as 41-year-old Patrick William Miles of 817 Lake Street in Spirit Lake and 43-year-old Angela Marie Rinkoski of 722 Lake Street apartment 3 in Spirit Lake.
As part of their investigation, police obtained and executed search warrants on those residences. They were simultaneously executed at about 9:00 am this (Wed.) morning. A news release doesn't say what those searches turned up.
Miles was arrested and charged with 1st degree robbery...a class "B" felony, possession of drug paraphernalia...a simple misdemeanor, and possession of marijuana...a serious misdemeanor.
Rinkoski was also arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia...a simple misdemeanor, and possession of marijuana...a serious misdemeanor.
Police say the case remains under investigation and that more charges are pending.
Spirit Lake police were assisted by the Dickinson County Sheriff's Office, the Lakes Regional Healthcare Ambulance and the High Risk Entry and Arrest Team (HEAT).
