JCC Voters approve $35.4 referendum

Wed 11-6-2019

Voters in the Jackson County Central School District overwhelmingly voted in favor of a $34.5M Referendum last night.  Of the 1,814 votes cast, 1,116 (just over 61%) were in support of the referendum.  Jackson County Central Superintendent Barry Schmidt was excited by the result…referendum vote 1

“Yes, we’re totally excited about the opportunity for our kids, and our district to move forward and now we can build for the future and plan for the future for our community.”

Schmidt says the turnout was good…referendum vote 2

“It was good, but I think it would have been nice to see a little bit more turnout, but we had a good turnout of a little over a thousand voters which was good.”

School Board Chair Rhonda Moore said this will help move the schools forward…referendum vote 3

“We just want to thank everyone that got out today and voted or voted absentee ballot, and just making sure that their voices were heard and we appreciate the support from the community to move our school in the right direction for the future.”
