Jackson Lions recognize Students of the Semester

The Jackson Lions Club recognized their students of the semester at their meeting Monday night.  Four students are recognized each semester based on their GPA, extra-curricular activities, community involvement and volunteering, work, leadership abilities and the curriculum they are taking.

Anna Rose is ranked first in her class at JCC.  She had a 4.0 GPA for the first semester and a 4.0 cumulative GPA.  She is a photographer for the yearbook, president of her 4-H club, helps with bible school, the Food for Kids program, caroling and mentoring Middle School kids.  After High School, Anna plans on attending Augustana University.

Ashley Kennedy is ranked second in her class at JCC.  Ashley is involved in Math League, Knowledge Bowl, Meals on Wheels, National Honor Society, Band, Choir and helps with Vacation Bible School at her church and reads to Elementary students.  Ashley plans on attending Concordia College in Chicago after High School.

Cheyenne Minnis is ranked third in her class at JCC.  Cheyenne is currently taking several classes through Minnesota West in Jackson.  After High School, Cheyenne plans on continuing at Minnesota West to complete her generals then transfer to USC in Los Angeles.

Sarah Holmberg is involved in the fall play, Math League and Knowledge Bowl.  She also helps with Ruby’s Pantry, Kids Lunch in the Park and has taken part in several mission trips.

Each student was presented with a plaque recognizing them as a Student of the Semester as well as a check for $200.
