Three JCC pitchers combine for one-hitter

WINDOM - Three Jackson County Central pitchers combined to hold Windom to one hit as the Huskies beat the Eagles 1-0 in Big South Conference baseball Thursday at Island Park.
The trio walked one batter, hit one and struck out 11.
Ryan Christopher went the first four innings, giving up one hit, hitting a batter, allowing no walks and striking out eight.
Keegan Klontz posted all zeros in his one inning and would get the win. Chris Gumto recorded a save as he went the final two frames, walking one and striking out two.
Windom also used three pitchers, with Noah Kloss, Hunter Voxland and Luke Gilbertson combining to hold the Huskies to three hits, walking one and striking out six.
The lone run of the game came in the sixth inning.
Christopher walked, stole second and later to third on an error on an errant pickoff attempt at second. Gumto drove in the run with a sacrifice fly.
Picking up hits for JCC were Easton Bahr, Ryker VanderWoude and Carter Heinrichs.
Gilbertson had the hit for the Eagles, a single in the first inning.
Jackson County Central is 2-0 in the BSC Small School Division and 5-1 overall. Windom is 1-2 and 3-4.
The Huskies will host Pipestone in a doubleheader at 12 p.m. Saturday at Wacker Field.
