JCC softball win streak stretches to five

JACKSON – The Jackson County Central softball team ran its winning streak to five games Tuesday by winning both ends of a Big South Conference Small School Division doubleheader from Windom, winning 6-3 and 6-2.
JCC scored its six runs on four hits in the opener. Mady Hamlett had two of the hits, while Aba Turner and Haley Tvinnereim and one apiece.
Blaney Johnson was the winning pitcher, allowing three runs (none earned) on 10 hits, walking one and striking out three.
The Huskies had 14 hits in the second game.
Keylee Rossow had three hits including two doubles, Jordann Schneekloth had three hits with one double and Mackenzie Moss also had three hits.
Ashley Heinrichs had two hits, with Johnson, Tvinnereim and Hamlett getting one apiece.
Heinrichs was the winning pitcher, allowing two runs on six hits, walking one and striking out two.
JCC is 6-1 overall, 4-0 in conference play, while the Eagles are 2-4 and 0-4.
Jackson County Central is scheduled to play a doubleherader at St. Charles Thursday.
