JCC headed to section championship game
MARSHALL - Jackson County Central advanced to the championship game of the Section 3AA boys basketball tournament for the third time in five years with a 56-51 win over Fairmont in the South Sub-Section championship game Saturday at the RA Facility at Southwest Minnesota State University.
Fairmont led 7-0 early in the game. JCC's first lead was 20-19. The Huskies led 31-25 halftime, with Andrew Hesebeck scoring the Huskies' last eight points of the half.
Hesebeck led Jackson County Central with a game-high 28 points.
Rudy Voss drew two fouls and sat out the final 9:30 of the first half. He finished with eight points. Bradley Buhl and Dominic Bargfrede each scored six.
Wyatt Frank led the Cardinals with 20 points.
JCC, now 19-7, will play Minnewaska Area (21-6) at 8 p.m. Thursday, also at SMSU, for the section title and a berth in the state tournament.
