Huskies top Lakers for Section 3AA title
MARSHALL - Jackson County Central won its third Section 3AA boys basketball title in five years Thursday with a 69-60 win over Minnewaska Area at the RA Facility at Southwest Minnesota State University.
The Lakers led by as many as 12 points at 29-17 in the first half. JCC scored the final 10 points of the half to cut the margin to 29-27 at the break.
Rudy Voss led the Huskies in scoring with 21 points, with Andrew Hesebeck scored 18 and Bradley Buhl scored 12 of four three-point baskets.
Jack Brinkman scored eight points, all in less than a minute late in the first half. Dominic Bargfrede also scored eight points.
The state tournament had been scheduled to start Wednesday, but it was cancelled due to concerns about the COVID-19 pandemic.
