Huskies to face Arrows in 3AA tourney

WINDOM - Jackson County Central will face Pipestone in the semifinals of the Section 3AA South Sub-Section boys basketball tournament at 7 p.m. Thursday at Windom High School. We'll have coverage on 97.7 FM KKOJ at 6:45.

The third-seeded Huskies are 15-11 after opening the tournament with a 77-64 win over sixth-seeded Martin County West for their third win in four games.

The second-seeded Arrows have a 17-10 record after beating seventh-seeded St. James Area 69-45 for their fifth win in six games.

Pipestone won both regular-season meetings, 72-67 at Pipestone Jan. 6 and 78-55 in Jackson on Jan. 30.

The other semifinal game will be played in Jackson, with top-seeded Fairmont (19-6) taking on Windom (14-12).

The winners meet for the sub-section title at 6 p.m. Saturday at Southwest Minnesota State.

Games in the North Sub-Section will be played at Willmar, with top-seeded Minnewaska Area (18-7) playing fourth-seeded Morris/Chokio-Alberta (13-13) and second-seeded New London-Spicer (17-8) meeting third-seeded Redwood Valley (13-13).

Those winners play for the North Sub-Section title at 8 p.m. Saturday at SMSU. The Section 3AA championship game is at 8 p.m. next Thursday, also at SMSU.
