Huskies fall to Lake City in consolation semis

ST. PAUL - Lake City defeted Jackson County Central 62-41 in the consolation bracket semifinals of the state Class 2A boys basketball tournament at Gangelhoff Center at Concorida University.
The Tigers shot 58 percent from three-point range, making 14 of 19 attempts. Overall, the Tigers shot 46 percent (18-39).
JCC was 17-50 from the field for 34 percent.
From the free-throw line, the Tigers were 15-18 for 83 percent, while the Huskies were 4-11 for 36 percent.
Three players scored in double figures for Lake City, with Mitch Marien scoring 16 points, Marc Kjos 15 and Nathan Heise 13.
Easton Bahr led JCC with 10 points.
The Tigers outrebounded the Huskies 34-27. Nico Feroni, Jacob Christopher and Ryan Christopher had five apiece for Jackson County Central.
The Huskies end the season with a 26-6 record.
The Tigers are 24-7 and will play New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva (29-3) for the consolation bracket title at 2 p.m. Friday. The Panthers beat Breckenridge 65-47 Thursday.
