Eagles score late to edge Bluejays

WASECA - Madelyn Schumacher scored at 13:37 of the third period to give the Windom Area girls hockey team its first victory of the season, 4-3 over Waseca at Waseca Community Arena.
Elly Bang assisted on the game-winner. She had a three-point game with a goal and two assists.
Marissa Becker scored two goals for the Eagles. Also picking up helpers were Madyson Fredin and Meakin Bang.
Kaylie Baerg made 23 saves for Windom Area. The Eagles had 24 shots on goal.
Windom Area is 1-4 overall and 1-2 in the Big South Conference. The Blejays are 0-5 and 0-3.
The Eagles play at Worthington Thursday. Next home game for Windom Area is next Saturday vs. Minnesota River.
